Cuffley 28 29 Letchworth
Cuffley were again involved with another nail biter at home against Letchworth, the visitors had more than a few colts in their line-up who ran the ball at every opportunity. Cuffley's downfall was a slow start to the first half and so it proved to be the second half, leaking tries to Letchworth on both occasions by giving them free ball in open play allowing their young backs space to run in for scores, which for most parts were against the run of play.
For the second week running we found ourselves chasing the game and fighting our way back into the match, with Letchworth's pack on the back foot throughout the game the Cuffley forwards dominated the scrums. Our line out again looked in great shape, but our pick and go game was brilliant with Letchworth having to spend most of the game on the back foot in this area that said we have to learn to turn this pressure into a win after two defeats on the run.
Cuffley will always be in the hunt whilst we have players of Crabby's calibre in the team, with our forwards giving us the platform and go forward ball and scoring a fine push over try with Ollie at eight having the last touch and Mick getting on the score sheet with a great try.
It was Crabby that kept us in the game with three penalties and two conversions the last from his own try. I'm sure we will get back into our early winning ways as we have a team that never gives up the game, we just need to learn from the few mistakes we have made in the last few games and play the right sort of rugby in the correct areas of the pitch. As I said on Saturday we should be disappointed with the score but certainly not with the way we played most of the game and with our commitment. H
