Ladies Match Reports

Cuffley Ladies 43 7 Stockwood Park Ladies

Cuffley Ladies played their second match but their first ever home game at Botany Bay. Another resounding victory by our girl's playing against a good team made up from two Bedfordshire clubs.

The victory was was even better as our opponents had two county players in their ranks. Sophie Newman again led the scoring with 4 tries ,she was aided by Charley Brown and Courtney Arberry both scoring their first tries for the club. Rachel Eaves kicked 4 conversions and added a fine try of her own.

We dominated the breakdowns and our backline defence was brilliant. Our forwards worked hard at the scrum with Alexandra Ulrich and Hannah Win looking strong, our lineout again was in a different class with Holly Lynne soaring high and setting up for some quality driving mauls, with Courtney steering the Cuffley pack drove Park back time and again, this was only one part of Courtney's game as she was everywhere causing mayhem with ball in hand.

Natasha Burns just gets better at scrum half, linking with Jade Mitchell time and again to give our backs a regular supply of front foot ball. For me the most pleasing aspect of our game was our aggressive defence, our backs of Jade Mitchell, Rachel Eaves, Charlotte Lovett, Charley Brown and Sinead Gibson all tackled everything in front of them forcing endless turnovers.

Another great afternoon for Cuffley Rugby Football Club Ladies. With girls recovering from illness and injury straining at the leash to come back and play our girl's are looking in great shape.

Holly Lynne won player of the match.

Special mention for:
Charlotte Lovett, Sinead Gibson ,both playing their first ever game of rugby.

Our girls train at Botany Bay on Tuesday night's from 7 30 pm and play on Sunday afternoon, we are looking to build our squad numbers. Over half of the girls who are playing had never played rugby before they joined us. If you know of any girls who my be interested please contact either:
